Iowa State has rejoined the AP Top 25 at No. 23 following its 34-24 win over Texas Tech on Saturday in Lubbock.
The Cyclones were ranked in the preseason for the first time since 1978. They fell from No. 21 to No. 25 after their triple-overtime win over Northern Iowa in week one then fell completely out of the poll following the team’s loss to Iowa.
This week marks two years since the Cyclones first entered the poll in the Matt Campbell era at No. 25 in week nine of 2017, which also followed a win in Lubbock.
Iowa State has now spent 11 weeks in the AP Top 25 since Campbell took over in 2016. The program was in the poll for 12 weeks total from 2000 to 2015.
The Cyclones will host Oklahoma State next week in Ames.
