Iowa State junior forward Solomon Young has been referred to a specialist for an extensive evaluation of a groin injury suffered earlier this month, according to a report from the Ames Tribune‘s Travis Hines.
Young averaged 7.2 points and 5.9 rebounds per game last season for the Cyclones. He was expected to be a key piece of the rotation for the Cyclones, who are in the midst of preparing for the 2018-19 season.
The Sacramento, Calif. native joins a long list of Cyclones on the mend with Zion Griffin (knee), Zoran Talley (broken nose), George Conditt (mono) and Tyrese Haliburton (mono) all having missed practice time for various medical reasons.
Iowa State will tip-off its 2018-19 season on Nov. 6 when Alabama State visits Hilton Coliseum.
