AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State Athletics Department announced today the addition of two schools for its future football schedule in Bowling Green and Tulane.

Iowa State has agreed to terms on a home-and-home series for both teams.

Iowa State will play host to Bowling Green in Ames in 2026 and travel to Bowling Green in 2027. The Iowa State-Tulane series will begin in 2028 in Ames, followed by a trip to New Orleans in 2029.

“The series with Bowling Green allows our program to continue to make inroads in Ohio where Coach Campbell and his staff have strategic recruiting ties,” Iowa State Athletics Director Jamie Pollard said. “We are also very excited for our fans to have an opportunity to travel with us on the road to New Orleans when we play Tulane in 2029.”

Iowa State is 2-0 all-time vs. Bowling Green. The Cyclones defeated the Falcons on the road in 1977 (35-2) and at home in 1979 (38-10).

The Cyclones own a 3-1 series lead vs. the Green Wave, winning the last game in the series at home in 1992 (38-14).
