Iowa State has picked up a commitment from Colorado State transfer Prentiss Nixon, according to a report by the Ames Tribune‘s Travis Hines. Nixon has been on an official visit to Ames since Monday.
The 6-foot-1, 180-pound guard led the Rams in scoring this past season while averaging 16.1 points per game. He also added 3.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists while shooting 36 percent from the field and 33 percent from 3-point range.
Nixon, who is a sit-one, play-one transfer, will be eligible for Iowa State’s 2019-2020 season and will add another high-level scoring threat to what will be a fairly experienced roster. Depending on how Lindell Wigginton’s future plays out, Nixon’s commitment puts Iowa State in a good position for the backcourt moving forward.
The commitment fills the Cyclones’ final scholarship for the 2018-19 season and leaves the program with three open scholarships for the 2019 recruiting cycle.
