Iowa State athletics director Jamie Pollard outlined plans for additions to Jack Trice Stadium and the Bergstrom Football Complex for the Iowa State Board of Regents on Wednesday, according to a report 13 WHO-TV.

The proposal includes a 100,000 square feet addition to the Bergstrom Complex to house a Student-Athlete Performance Center.

“For the first time in Iowa State history we would put under one roof our academic, our dining, our sports medicine, and practice for all student-athletes, not just for the football program,” Pollard said.

The plan would also entail improvements to the north end zone of Jack Trice Stadium including connecting the concourse all the way around the stadium and an additional elevator on that side of the stadium. The project is reportedly set to cost between $65-80 million and will be revisited again during the Regents’ April meeting.

“To further enhance our family-friendly hills, those will stay part of our project, they are a very important part of our history. They will be used more efficiently than they are today,” Pollard said. “This is the continuation of the master plan we talked about 12-15 years ago. This will help our ability to recruit on a national level, programs we’re meeting with have these facilities, or are in the process of trying to create these facilities.”
