AMES — Sloppy offense and kept Iowa State from defeating No. 13 Kansas on Tuesday night in front of a packed Hilton Coliseum. The Cyclones committed 12 turnovers that led to 21 Kansas points in route to a 82-77 Jayhawk victory.

Iowa State’s starting backcourt of Lindell Wigginton and Donovan Jackson combined to score only 15 points (12 from Wigginton) on 4-of-20 shooting. Cameron Lard led the Cyclones with another double-double via 19 points and 11 rebounds.

On the other end of the floor, Kansas shot 61.5 percent from the field in the second half, a 20 minute span where it felt like Iowa State couldn’t get a stop. Big man Udoka Azubuike went 9-of-10 from the field – mostly consisting of dunks – to lead the Jayhawks with 19 points in 22 minutes.

Up next for Iowa State is a road trip to Manhattan on Saturday for a 12 p.m. tip vs. the Wildcats (ESPNU).
