WILLIAMS BLOG: Win over UNI boosted Iowa State’s RPI

It is way too early to be studying things like the RPI on a daily basis but considering yesterday was without question Iowa State’s best win of the season from the standpoint of metrics, I believe the following is notable.

After topping Ben Jacobson’s UNI Panthers 76-65 in Des Moines, the Cyclones have jumped into the RPI’s top 25 in essentially every outlet.

ESPN’s RPI had the Cyclones at No. 22 as of Sunday morning.

The site Real Time RPI jumped the Cyclones 16 spots from 38 to 22 following the win.

Nothing, however changed for Iowa State on the (subscription) metrics. The Cyclones are still projected to finish the season at 15-15 and 6-12 in the Big 12

Iowa State will play its final non-conference game on the season on Wednesday night at 6 vs. Maryland Eastern Shore.
