RECRUITING: Iowa State offers 2020 Lewis Central defensive tackle

Iowa State has extended a scholarship offer to 2020 Council Bluffs, Lewis Central defensive tackle Logan Jones. The 6-foot-3, 240-pound prospect announced the offer on his Twitter account Wednesday morning.

The Cyclones are the second Power 5 program to offer the high school sophomore after Minnesota extended a scholarship during the summer.

Jones has recorded 7.5 tackles, three solo tackles for loss and two solo sacks during the Titans’ 3-0 start to the 2017 season. He had 10 tackles and two solo stops for a loss as a freshman in 2016.

Jones is the second Titan to earn an Iowa State offer following 2019 four-star quarterback Max Duggan. Duggan has sat out most of the team’s last two games after suffering a wrist injury in a 51-0 win over Council Bluffs, Abraham Lincoln.

He joins Southeast Polk running back Gavin Williams as 2020 in-state prospects who have earned an Iowa State offer.
