Niang to miss the rest of Orlando Summer League with knee injury

Former Iowa State star Georges Niang will miss the remainder of the Orlando NBA Summer League after suffering a left knee sprain in Indiana’s first game over the weekend.

He will reportedly return to Indiana to have an MRI done this week before the full extent of the injury is known. Niang scored two points in the Pacers’ win over Orlando on Saturday, but left the game for good just more than a minute in after the injury.

Naz Long scored two points on just one-of-six shooting in 15 minutes of the Pacers’ 84-77 win over Charlotte on Sunday. He also added one rebound and one assist.

Former Cyclone Bubu Palo made his first appearance for the Pacers and grabbed three rebounds plus dished two assists in 12 minutes. Indiana will continue its slate in Orlando on Monday when they face the Miami Heat at 4 p.m. on NBATV.
