AMES, Iowa – Iowa State freshman guard Lindell Wigginton returned to the lineup for the Gold medal game at the FIBA U19 World Cup and helped lead Canada past Italy, 79-60, Sunday afternoon in Cairo, Egypt.
Wigginton, who missed the previous two games because of concussion symptoms, didn’t start in the championship game but played 29 minutes and finished with 11 points, three assists and three rebounds against the Italians.
The Dartmouth, Nova Scotia native averaged 12.4 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists for the tournament. He started the four games prior to his injury.
