Deonte Burton was in the starting lineup for the Minnesota Timberwolves Summer League team on Saturday evening in Las Vegas but things didn’t go so well for the former Cyclone.
Burton, who signed with the Timberwolves as a free agent just hours after the NBA Draft, went 1-for-5 and scored four points in only 18 minutes of work. Burton tacked on two rebounds and an assist to his box score.
Burton and the Timberwolves will next go head-to-head with Monte Morris and the Denver Nuggets at 5:30 on Sunday. That game can be seen on ESPN2.
Elsewhere on Saturday, Abdel Nader had 14 points and seven reb
ounds for the Celtics in an 86-81 win over the Lakers. Matt Thomas played nine minutes for L.A. and did not score while going 0-for-2 from the field.
