RECRUITING: Three-star Mississippi WR C.J. Bolar commits to ISU

Iowa State landed a commitment from three-star wide receiver C.J. Bolar on Tuesday after being visited by the staff earlier this week. The Purvis, Miss. native announced his commitment on his Twitter.

Bolar is now the top-ranked commit in Iowa State’s 2018 class. He also holds offers from Mississippi State, North Carolina, Louisville, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Syracuse. Rated as the No. 99 wide receiver in the class by 247Composite, Bolar is Iowa State’s highest-rated receiver commit since Allen Lazard.

The 6-foot-2, 186-pound prospect caught 40 passes for 732 yards and 12 touchdowns as a junior. He also ran 16 times for 189 yards and two touchdowns.

Bolar is the second wide receiver in Iowa State’s class joining 5-foot-10 Texas prospect Sterling Galban. He is the Cyclones’ sixth commit in the class.
