Adding depth to the secondary will be one of the top priorities for the Iowa State coaching staff in putting together its 2018 recruiting class and a few offers this week reflect that. Three-star Texas safety Kolby Peel and three-star California safety Halid Djibril have both picked up scholarship offers from the Cyclones in the last couple days.
Peel, a 6-foot, 209-pound College Station native, is rated as the No. 51 safety in the class by 247Composite. He’s the No. 671 player in the class overall and No. 85 prospect in Texas.
He also holds offers from Cincinnati, Indiana, Kansas, Minnesota and a few others.
Djibril, a 6-foot-2-inch, 185-pound Los Angeles native, is the No. 66 safety in the class, according to 247Composite. He’s the No. 783 player in the class and No. 76 in California.
His other offers include Colorado, Boise State, Illinois, Nevada and a few other Division I programs.
