MILWAUKEE — So. Much. Drama.
Iowa State trailed Purdue by 19 points early in the second half. Nineteen! The Cardiac Clones did what they have done so many times, came back and took their first lead with 3:11 to play.
This time, Iowa State failed to close the deal. Purdue was too much and ended the Cyclones’ season by an 80-76 final.
The epic comeback was headlined by the play of Deonte Burton, who finished the game with 25 points. Monte Morris and Matt Thomas were great as well, scoring 18 and 20 a piece.
Purdue All-American Caleb Swanigan led the way for the Boilermakers with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Vincent Edwards had 21 and 12 as well.
