The Iowa State men’s basketball team will honor former Cyclone Bryce Dejean-Jones tonight with special warmup shirts and jersey patches before and during their game against Mount St. Mary’s.
Dejean-Jones, who played for the Cyclones during the 2014-15 season, was killed on May 28 when he was shot after kicking open the front door of an apartment he thought belonged to his former girlfriend. His death came just three months after he’d signed a three-year contract with the NBA’s New Orleans Pelicans.
The 6-foot-6-inch guard was explosive at times during his one season in Ames while averaging 10.5 points and 4.7 rebounds for Fred Hoiberg’s last ISU team. The Los Angeles native was a key piece of the team’s run to the 2015 Big 12 tournament championship.
The Cyclones and the Mountaineers will tip-off at 7 p.m. in Hilton Coliseum. The game will be broadcasted on Cyclones.tv.
