RECRUITING: Steve Prohm visits four-star PG Lindell Wiggington

Four-star point guard Lindell Wigginton is one of Iowa State’s top priorities at this stage of putting together its 2017 recruiting class and the Cyclone staff continued to make that clear on Monday.

The Oak Hill Academy floor general confirmed to Cyclone Fanatic via a text message that ISU head coach Steve Prohm and top assistant Neill Berry were in Virginia to watch him practice.

Wiggington officially visited Oregon this past weekend and is scheduled to visit Iowa State during the weekend of Sept. 24. The two schools have been considered the favorites to land the 6-foot-1-inch, 175-pound, guard since the summer.

He’s rated as the No. 12 point guard in the country by 247 and the No. 53 player overall. He is also scheduled to visit Baylor and Arizona State next month.

Wiggington has a smooth shooting stroke that helps make him one of the top scorers for one of the biggest basketball factories in the country. He’s more than just a shooter as good athleticism and strength allow him to be a strong slasher and finisher at the rim.

His ball-handling and passing abilities also jump out on his highlight tape.

Iowa State is looking to add a point guard to their class that includes Wisconsin wing Terrence Lewis, Mississippi forward KeyShawn Feazell and Texas guard Darius McNeill. The class is ranked No. 20 in the country by 247.

The Cyclones have three scholarships left for the 2017-18 season.

Stay tuned to Cyclone Fanatic for more on this story.
