RECRUITING: Pair of priority recruits put ISU in top list

KeyShawn Feazell

It didn’t come as much of a surprise when 6-foot-9-inch, 225-pound, power forward KeyShawn Feazell included Iowa State in his top five that he released via Twitter on Sunday. The three-star forward has already scheduled a visit to Ames on Aug. 20 and is one of the Iowa State staff’s top priorities.

Iowa State was joined by Pittsburgh, Mississippi State, Baylor and Alabama in Feazell’s top five. He doesn’t have official visits planned to the other four schools yet so it makes you think Iowa State is in a good position.

The Monticello, Miss., native is the No. 160 recruit in the country, according to 247 Composite. He is the No. 35 power forward and second-best player in the state of Mississippi.

Feazell is a big-body with good touch down-low. He’s an above average athlete that can leap quickly and run the floor. He also shows a strong ability to step out and knock down a shot from deep.

Lindell Wiggington

A new name on the Iowa State recruiting board also became known on Sunday when four-star point guard Lindell Wiggington included the Cyclones in his top seven.

Oregon and Iowa State appear to have emerged as the leaders at this point in Wiggington’s process, per a source close to his recruitment. They are joined  in his top seven by Arizona State, Virginia Tech, Louisville, Baylor and Texas.

The 6-foot-1-inch, 175-pound, floor general is rated as a four-star prospect by 247 Composite and is the No. 52 player in the country. He is the No. 12 point guard and second-best player in Virginia.

The Oak Hill product is originally from Nova Scotia, Canada, and has become one of the hotter names on the recruiting trail in the last few months.

He’s a big-time scorer that poured in more than 20 points per game last season for Oak Hill. He’s a good shooter from outside and strong enough to finish in traffic down-low.

He has a really nice handle and is just very smooth with the basketball in his hands.

Wiggington hasn’t scheduled a visit to Ames yet, but it seems likely that one could be coming in the next few weeks for this priority point guard.
