Cyclone Fanatic is counting down the days until Iowa State’s season opener against Northern Iowa by bringing you a stat, former Cyclone moment or any other random tidbits every morning to help countdown the days.
No. 19- Allen Lazard’s 19.45 yard punt return average
While Lazard was Iowa State’s main threat through the air last season, he was also the Cyclones’ main threat in the punt return game as well.
Lazard returned 11 punts for 214 yards for an average of 19.45 yards per.
Some of his best punt return games were against UNI when he returned four punts for 100 yards and against Kansas State when he took one for 46 yards.
Lazard is currently listed on the depth chart as Iowa State’s top option at punt return for the 2016, where he will again likely split time with the dynamic and versatile Ryen.
