Early season kickoff times set for Cyclone football

The following is a press release courtesy of ISU Athletics Communications.

AMES, Iowa – The excitement surrounding Matt Campbell’s inaugural season as the head football coach at Iowa State is at an all-time high.

Cyclone fans can start making their plans accordingly, as five of ISU’s 12 games have kickoff times and TV assignments set, announced today by the Big 12 Conference.

Campbell’s debut vs. UNI in Jack Trice Stadium (Sept. 3) will be played under the lights (7 p.m. CT kickoff) on Cyclones.tv powered by Mediacom. Cyclones.tv subscribers can also view the game online.

The annual Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series clash between Iowa State and Iowa (Sept. 10) has already been set for a 6:30 p.m. CT kickoff on the Big Ten Network. This year’s showdown is in Iowa City.

Iowa State’s next two games will be 11 a.m. CT starts, as the Cyclones travel to TCU (Sept. 17- FS1) and play host to San Jose State (Sept. 24- FSN). The TCU game is ISU’s Big 12 opener.

The Cyclones will play host to Oklahoma on a Thursday night (Nov. 3) ESPN prime time slot. The game will kickoff at 6:30 p.m. CT.

The Big 12 also announced that the Iowa State-Texas game (Oct. 15) will be televised by the Longhorn Network and Cyclones.tv. Game time will be announced at a later date.

Iowa State set a new season attendance record in 2015, averaging 56,519 fans in the debut season of the newly-renovated Jack Trice Stadium. Iowa State’s first two home games last year were sellouts at 61,500.
