It’s no secret that Iowa State’s front court will take a hit at the end of this season with the graduation of Georges Niang, Jameel McKay and Abdel Nader. On Thursday night, Steve Prohm’s staff took a step forward in reloading.

Northern Illinois graduate transfer forward Darrell Bowie announced his commitment to the Cyclones on his Twitter account. The 6-foot-7-inch, 220 pounder from Milwaukee has sat out all of this season while recovering from a shoulder injury. 

Bowie averaged 9.8 points and 5.4 assists per game during his junior season but was badly hampered while dealing with the injured shoulder. He was 11th in the MAC in rebounding as a sophomore with 6.5 boards per game while also averaging 9.6 points.

He joins JUCO transfer Emmanuel Malou and high school prospect Solomon Young as newcomers in Iowa State’s front court next season.
