Tuesday night’s Big 12 game in Waco will feature another battle between a pair of teams in the AP Top 25. The Iowa State Cyclones jumped up one spot this week’s poll to No. 13 while Baylor fell four sports to No. 25.

The Cyclones are also No. 15 in the USA Today Coaches poll while the Bears are No. 22.

Villanova is still the No. 1 team in the nation but the Kansas Jayhawks are the new No. 2 in both polls after their win on the road at No. 3 Oklahoma on Saturday. Iowa and North Carolina round out the top five in the AP. The Hawkeyes are also No. 6 in the coaches.

West Virginia stayed in the top 10 again this week at No. 10 and the Texas Longhorns climbed one spot to No. 24 despite their loss to Iowa State over the weekend. This week features the fewest Iowa State opponents in the polls in at least a month.

Kansas’ win over Oklahoma also helped them take over the top spot in the RPI rankings to start the week. The Sooners are right behind them at No. 2 followed by Villanova, Oregon and Virginia in the top five.

Iowa is No. 10, West Virginia is No. 11 and Iowa State is at No. 15. Texas (No. 21) and Colorado (No. 25) both give the Cyclones two more wins over RPI top 25 teams.

Texas A&M (No. 26), Baylor (No. 30), Texas Tech (No. 32) and Chattanooga (No. 33) elevate Iowa State’s number of RPI top 50 opponents to 10. Kansas State is also No. 73 to start the week.

Iowa State and Baylor will tip-off at 8 p.m. on ESPN2 Tuesday night.
