AMES — New Iowa State football coach Matt Campbell’s hit the ground running in terms of recruiting and assembling a staff.
He still needs two key components of the latter — offensive and defensive coordinators, but several assistants have been on staff and vigorously recruiting for a while (with obvious results to show for it).
Monday, ISU released their contracts, per an open records request. Campbell’s contract is not yet available.
As of now, tight ends coach/recruiting coordinator Alex Golesh is the top paid assistant, at $210,000 annual base pay.
Holdover running backs coach Lou Ayeni made $191,000 in base pay this season for ISU — and his contract will likely be re-worked.
Other contracts released today: Secondary coach D.K. McDonald ($175,000); linebackers coach Tyson Veidt ($190,000); director of scouting John Buceyeski ($80,000); and director of operations Greg Brabenec ($80,000).
The contracts for new offensive line coach Tom Manning and wide receivers coach Bryan Gasser have not been released.
