AMES — Time to stop using the word "swirling."
For now, anyway.
There’s finally closure to "Fred Hoiberg Watch 2015" — as the Chicago Bulls put out a press release late Monday indicating there will be "a major announcement" at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
That’s when Iowa State’s star-turned-wildly-successful-coach, will be named as the Bulls next head coach, replacing embattled and fired Tom Thibodeau.
Hoiberg’s five-year run with the Cyclones included making the last four NCAA Tournaments. A crushing round of 64 loss to UAB cut short this year’s tourney. ISU made the Sweet 16 the previous season and has won the past two Big 12 Tournaments.
Hoiberg’s Cyclones went 115-56 during his tenure. His 10-year playing career in the NBA included a stop with the Bulls.
