WBB: Moody named WBCA Honorable Mention All-American

Iowa State women’s basketball player Nikki Moody added another accolade to her already prestigious career on Saturday when she was named an honorable mention All-American by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association.

The senior point guard led Iowa State in scoring with 14.5 points per game, while also adding 6.8 assists per game this season as the Cyclones finished 18-13 and made their ninth-straight trip to the NCAA Tournament. Moody finished her career as a Cyclones as the all-time leading assister in program history with 745, which also ranks sixth in Big 12 history.

Moody was also a unanimous selection to the All-Big 12 first-team for her efforts during her senior season.

Iowa State is one of just two Big 12 teams to have a player named an All-American or honorable mention All-American by the WBCA in the last six years. Hallie Christofferson was Iowa State’s last WBCA All-American when she was honorable mention in 2013.
