First the good news from ISU coach Paul Rhoads’ portion of today’s Big 12 coaches teleconference:
Electric return man/receiver Jarvis West “will be fine.”
West’s bell was rung in a play deemed to include a targeting foul in Saturday’s 20-17 win at Iowa.
He didn’t return, but clearly checked out well with the medical staff.
Now, the bad news:
Reserve offensive lineman Jacob Dunning ruptured a patella tendon and is almost certainly out for the season.
The same scenario holds for promising receiver P.J. Harris, who Rhoads said suffered a fractured leg.
“Both have to undergo surgery and will more than likely be done for the year,” Rhoads said. “P.J. may be able to be back later (in the season).”
Rhoads did not mention starting offensive lineman Daniel Burton, however.
Burton went down with an apparent leg injury in Saturday’s game.
