As was the case with Melvin Ejim,DeAndre Kane was not selected in Thursday night’s NBA Draft but that might have been a blessing in disguise.
Kane, who averaged 17.1 points and 6.8 rebounds per game as a senior, signed with the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday morning. The news was first reported by Adam Zagoria on Twitter.
According to our resident NBA guru Brent Blum, Kane could not have landed in a better place.
"Deandre Kane has a definite shot to stick with the Lakers. They have just 4 guaranteed contracts on books, meaning 11 spots for grabs," Blum tweeted.
Also, "Kane could not have picked a better roster. Lakers still want to win and need PG’s," said Blum.
As of this time, Melvin Ejim has not landed on an NBA summer league roster. We will keep you updated on that developing story throughout the day.
