Rhoads visits Wesley, who is 100 percent committed

Often times when a prospect commits early, they get forgotten about until National Signing Day. When it comes to Iowa Sate, don’t forget about Harvey, Ill. wide receiver Jauan Wesley.

Along with Allen Lazard and Orion Salters, Wesley is one of three wide receivers that has verbally committed to Iowa State’s 2014 recruiting class. At one point, the 5-foot-10, 165-pound prospect held offers from the likes of Michigan State, Illinois and a handful of non-BCS programs. Rivals.com recently tabbed Wesley as the 79th best receiver in the 2014 class in its final rankings before National Signing Day.

Paul Rhoads recently made an in-home visit to Wesley this past Satruday.

“We talked about the new coordinator and all of that,” Wesley said. “He was enthusiastic about the coordinator and how big of a decision that it was. “I think it will be good for the program and the offense. Hopefully we can score more points than they did in 2013.”

Wesley will be one of many official visitors in Ames this weekend and meeting Mark Mangino is on his list of things to do.

“I want to get acclimated with the atmosphere and get used to it.”

Wesley, who committed to Iowa State in July, confirmed that he is 100 percent committed to Iowa State and plans to sign with the Cyclones on Feb. 5.
