Mister commits!

Paul Rhoads’ 2014 recruiting class is shaping up to be a good one.

On Wednesday night, news broke that Tommy Mister, a 6-foot, 198-pound running back out of St. Rita in Chicago committed to the Cyclones.

After choosing Iowa State over the likes of Michigan State, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Notre Dame and a handful of non-BCS programs, Twitter blew up. Here’s how the news "broke," via Mister’s account.

"Ima be playing football in 2014 with my boy @AllenLazard in Ames Iowa !!"

And then there was this gem from fellow 2014 commitment, Urbandale wide receiver Allen Lazard.

"Like to welcome @Tommy_Mister to the #CyclONEfamily we definitely got a lot better today!! #CyclONEnation#SlimeLife"

If you CLICK HERE and read how this all went down via the Ames Tribune’s Bobby La Gesse, Lazard deserves all sorts of credit for this commitment. Apparently Mister had his mind made up to attend Michigan State only a few days ago. Then Lazard, who is arguably the top-ranked wide receiver in 2014, got on the phone with his future teammate and changed his mind.

Now, Mister is a Cyclone and Iowa State football recruiting has more momentum than I’ve ever seen (more on that later).
