DAYTON, Ohio — Life as a Cyclone…

Iowa State’s 2013 basketball season ended in heartbreaking fashion on Sunday via a last second Aaron Craft 3-pointer that pushed Ohio State to a 78-75 victory over the Cyclones in the NCAA Tournament’s Round of 32.

Iowa State trailed Ohio State by as many as 13 points in the second half, only to come back and eventually take the lead late in the game.

"You live with it," said Iowa State head coach Fred Hoiberg. "I can’t tell you how proud I am of our guys with the effort being down 13 with just over six left, to fight all the way back, take a lead and have a chance to win that game."

Korie Lucious and Will Clyburn led the way for the Cyclones with 19 and 17 points.

"For what those kids (seniors) did for our program, to put Iowa State basketball back on the map, is an unbelievable thing," said Hoiberg. "Take it from a lifelong Cyclone that has a passion for athletic programs and obviously, specifically basketball because of my playing days and now my coaching days – for what they’ve done and what they’ve accomplished in the two years that we had a lot of them, words can’t describe it."

Iowa State’s 2012-13 season ended with a record of 23-12.
