The following is a press release courtesy of Iowa State athletic communications.
For the first time in Iowa State history, the Cyclone volleyball team has sold more than 1,000 season tickets while playing home matches in Hilton Coliseum.
“We are thrilled that our fans have come through yet again and helped us break our season ticket holder record” Cyclone head coach Christy Johnson-Lynch said. “Our fan base, and in particular our season ticket holders, have been a critical part of our success. They’ve made Hilton one of the best volleyball arenas in the country, and we can’t thank them enough for their enthusiasm and support of Iowa State volleyball.”
Last season, the Cyclones set a record in selling 886 season tickets. Playing their home schedule at Ames High School in 2010, the Cyclones sold over 1,200 season tickets as fans prepared to attend matches in a gym with a maximum capacity of 2,000, less than half the size of Hilton Coliseum, which has a volleyball capacity of 8,524.
Season tickets are still available and can be purchased at cyclones.com (click here) or by calling the Iowa State ticket office at 1-888-478-2925.
