Attention Kansas City stores, Emiah Bingley is headed your way. Make sure to have plenty of Cyclones apparel on hand.

Bingley committed to the Iowa State women’s basketball team on Saturday. On Sunday, the newest Cyclone was going on a shopping spree.

“Actually, today we plan on going to one of the stores and finding some gear,” Bingley said. “We were just talking about it last night. We are heading out pretty soon to get some t-shirts and stuff like that.”

Now properly attired, Bingley should continue to dominate on the court. The 5-foot-7 combo guard is rated the 57th best prospect and the 17th best guard in the country by the All-Star Girls report. Her fast and aggressive style of play should immediately upgrade Iowa State’s roster.

“I kind of describe (my game) as intense,” Bingley said. “I’m always moving and I play hard. I love to get after it.”

Bingley, a Lee’s Summit, Missouri native, chose Iowa State over scholarship offers from Illinois, Colorado, Temple and UMKC. Texas was also showing strong interest.

“When I went on my visit, I really enjoyed myself,” said Bingley, who is considering majoring in broadcast journalism. “It felt like one big happy family to me. The fan base and how supportive the fans are was another big plus for me. It really felt like home to me.

“I love (Hilton). It was a really great experience.”

Bingley isn’t the only who is excited about her commitment. Bill Fennelly and his staff have been recruiting Bingley since her sophomore year of high school.

“(Fennelly) just told me that I made his day,” Bingley said. “I made his week. Coach (Jodi) Steyer was also really excited. She said I made her month.”

Bingley is the third commitment to Coach Bill Fennelly’s 2012 recruiting class joining Nicole Blaskowsky and Madison Baier.
