Okoro visits Seton Hall, still favors ISU

Basketball recruiting for is starting to heat up for 2012.

One of Iowa State’s top targets in that class appears to be Nkereuwem Okoro, a 6-foot-4, 190-pound shooting guard out of St. Raymond high school in the Bronx, N.Y.

Last week, Okoro took an unofficial visit to Seton Hall.

“I learned a lot about their program,” Okoro told CycloneFanatic.com on Sunday. “I didn’t know much about them before visiting. I got to look at their campus and I liked it.”

As for Okoro’s recruitment as a whole, not a lot has changed over the last month. Okoro is still listing Iowa State, Arizona, Seton Hall and Pitt as his top schools. Like Iowa State, Arizona and Seton Hall have extended formal scholarship offers towards Okoro. To this point, Pittsburg has not but Okoro believes they are close to doing so.

Okoro said that Iowa State is still the leader in his recruitment at this point in time.

“I got a good feel for that place on my visit,” Okoro said. “I like that area. It was private and not loud and crazy like a city is. I like that about Iowa State.”

“Hoiberg seems like a really genuine guy and so is his whole coaching staff. I’m just really comfortable there.”

Okoro does not have any other visits scheduled at this point in time.

Okoro is currently prepping for the upcoming AAU season, where he’ll play for the Long Island Lightning.
