It is now official that the Iowa State football team will be playing in the 2009 Insight Bowl against Minnesota.
Iowa State players were informed of this great news at around 2:45 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
“We are thrilled to be heading to the Insight Bowl,” said Rhoads in an Iowa State release. “The trip is a reward to our players, who did what many people felt they couldn’t do. It is also a reward for our fans, whose tremendous turnout in Arizona in 2000 paved the way for this return trip. I was on the other sideline (Pitt) when Iowa State played in the 2000 game and remember the roar from Cyclone fans when Iowa State took the field. The Insight Bowl is first-class in every respect, and we look forward to a great game and a great trip for our fans.”
