Alright fanatics, what's your greatest athletic achievement? Maybe you were all-state water boy or better yet you finally made the varsity cheerleading team your senior year. What ya got?

I led the state of Iowa (all divisions) in INT's thrown my junior year.

In my defense we had just switched to a 5 wide out spread offense and I wasn't completely used to the system yet.

That being said... I was still the best!

I scored a sweet jumpshot in garbage time in a game we were blown out it.

Won a team state championship in football. Individually, not too much.

I led my coed intramural volleyball team to a first-round playoff victory despite being outnumbered 3-on-6.

    Yeah, that's about it.

    Not greatest, but definetily oddest.

Football game in fourth quarter, out of timeouts. Playing defense. Cornerback got hurt and Coach sent in another D-Lineman. I saw this went out to play cornerback. Opposing coach saw this and called for a pass my way. One play at corner and one interception.

    I completed a triathlon.

I also rode every mile of RAGBRAI while consuming a ridiculously large amount of beer in 7 days. Ride-drink-pass out-Gatorade-repeat.

4 years of running the 3200 at state track, then sitting the rest of the meet and drooling over the chicks. Of course until I was an idiot senior and decided I needed to qualify in the mile so I actually had to care about track until Saturday. :skeptical: Only thing the IAHSAA has ever gotten right was going co-ed with state track.

Hopefully getting through the DSM Marathon in October becomes my new best.

Keep in mind that my school had roughly 100 kids:

Only person in school who could dunk but didn't play basketball. I sucked at every other aspect of the game. My 8th grade year I went out and scored 3 points the whole year and there were only 7 kids on the team :) I was short and fat in junior high.

First person in school to bench 300lbs. They are probably doing 400lbs now.

Could barely run a 1/2 mile in high school football practice. 10 years later ran a full marathon.

jr high team went undefeated in both years..not much competition, blew everyone away. (im going into my freshman year) our basketball team went to an 8 team state championship, beat 2 4A schools and got 2nd place there, then we went to minnesota to play in the "great state" championship at the target center. beat a south dakota school, lost our next two against minnesota teams, got 4th place. not bad for a 2A school. individually, had a 12 point game including a game winning shot in the championship game of a tournament

I had a pick 6 in 5th grade. Won 2 paintball tournaments w/ ISU, and many more top 5 finishes. Won quite a few IM championships, but I was fortunate to play with a bunch of great dudes.

Completed Dam to Dam this year, so that was probably my best personal accomplishment.

After years of getting pummeled, ended up helping take the ISU water polo team to Nationals. Where we got pummeled by teams that are actually good. Did manage to score a goal there, however...

2002? ish ... Ragbrai, only 8 miles to go into Emmetsburg so we stopped for beer. A huge headwind formed and to my suprise beer doesn't fuel the muscles.

at one point I looked down and my speedometer read 3 mph. the elderly can walk at that speed. damn near died that day. shoulda known Emmetsburg would be evil.
