Will Blalock was waived by the New Jersey Nets a week before the season started. He was allocated yesterday to the expansion Maine Red Claws of the D-League.

For those curious, the NBA D-League draft is tomorrow, come see it in action and meet Curtis Stinson at 3Bag in WDM at 6pm.

Here is the Iowa Energy training camp roster prior to the Draft:

Curtis Stinson G 6-3 Iowa State Returning
Mark Tyndale F 6-7 Temple Returning
Jeff Trepagnier G 6-6 USC Returning
Marvin Phillips F 6-7 Claflin Returning
Darryl Watkins C 6-11 Syracuse Allocation
Anthony Tolliver F 6-9 Creighton Returning
Adam Emmenecker G 6-2 Drake Local Tryout
Shyron Ely G 6-4 Evansville Local Tryout
Matt Trannon F 6-7 Michigan State Local Tryout

Good to see these guys still playing ball. Hopefully they can do some special things and get an opportunity to move up.

I wouldn't mind seeing Trannon stick... he seemd like a decent guy. Is it just Stinson and Blalock that made the D-League or do we have any other ISUers? What about Homan... still overseas I'd imagine?

Trannon's a cool story, played both football and basketball at MSU and after spending a few years trying to make the NFL, he has switched his focus to basketball.

As for other Cyclones, I'm pretty sure Mike Taylor will end up with a good gig in Europe, Homan is in Greece, Vroman is in Iran, Alex Thompson is in Switzerland, TyRay Pearson is in Finland, Corey McIntosh is in France, Stevie Johnson is in Spain, Jiri Hubalek is in Italy, Jessan Gray is in Uruguay, Rahshon Clark is in Iceland, and Chris Alexander is in South Korea.

It's pretty crazy the places some of these guys end up playing, but they're all chasing the dream still.

Believe it or not, AT is averaging 9 points and 5.5 rebounds so far in his season in Switzerland. He's playing almost 35 minutes per game. AT is on the same team as former Hawkeye and Waterloo native Mike Henderson. Small world.

Didn't someone say he was going to get an NBA tryout a few months back?
