U of Iowa last in Big 10 Freshmen Retention

    ...and ISU's is only 1.3% better, so I wouldn't try talking to much smack!

    First, 1.3% is a fairly large difference when looking at statistics gathered from the hundreds of public, four-year institutions in the United States.

    Second, despite being last in the conference, University of Iowa's first-year retention rate is well above average. This figure is not listed in the article, but is usually around 76%. The reason Iowa is not higher in the rankings is not due to their own retention success, but rather the strength and selectivity of the other institutions in the Big Ten.
