....among others too. Anyone who is smart with meteorology know if Ames is suppose to get some good storms tonight?

Without getting too technical if you're in a watch odds are pretty decent for some good storms.

Not exactly near Ames, but we've been getting pounded with heavy rain for a good 20 minutes now here in Tabor...I am getting worried about flash flooding.

Yeah, it looks pretty bad where you are at on the radar. Any twisters out there?

Council Bluffs just got pecker slapped with really hard rain, northwest Omaha had some nasty straight line winds. I'm looking forward to getting home to a telephone pole residing in my living room.

    Good luck with it tonight!

Thats moving pretty much straight north, I'm guessing DSM proper doesn't get hit.

Man, no crap. We've had about a grand total of 90 minutes worth of rainfall so far in 2011 in northwest Austin. Drought is starting to get bad.

Per the radar display I set up with Forecastfox, there is a line of strong storms coming our way from the SW. There is purple coloration inside a few of those storms -- not good.

Edit 5:55 PM: The line of storms are close to Dallas County if not there by now. Looks like the red and dark red mass in the southern end may pass over Story and Marshall Counties -- just my guess looking at the track in my display.

I look forward to 3 straight hours of prime time weather coverage from Ed Wilson.

Wait....there are no live sports broadcasts scheduled for WHO-TV tonight. Nevermind.

Pretty good, swirling wind just passed through, but now it's dead still. "Calm before the storm"?

The storm seems to have shifted a little bit. Heading more east than north now.
