    If it is actually a new discovery or something one-of-a-kind its a shame they killed it. What in the heck is it? I cant play the video so just had the one image of it to go off of.

    That was my first thought as well, definitely looks like a sloth.

    Edit: And after watching the whole video and seeing the claws, there is no doubt in my mind. Not really sure why this is a story.

    I agree with both of you. Turtles don't have claws like the ones that "thing" does.

    Definitely a hairless sloth. Pretty weird though. I wonder if sloths around there have adapted to living in caves? Evolved to not have any pigment or hair? The thing was probably blind....

    yeah, it's a sloth. don't know why they killed it though. They normaly avoid humans like the plague.
