I love coffee, but can't drink too much or too much caffeine, therefore moved to drinking herbal teas mixed with black and green tea. Right now I am drinking a Chinese oolong tea bought in Sioux City at a Oriental grocery store, mixed with guava leaves and lotus flower. It is one of my favorite blends. The world of tea is extraordinary. These help me survive the winter. I have many different mixtures.

have you bought one of those mugs with the tea leaf filter yet? I keep thinking about it, but I wonder how often/easy they would be to clean.

My wife really wants something like this for Christmas, so if anybody has a good suggestion, let me know.

Just get a tea ball and it can be hung in any mug. They are really easy to clean and allow you to try a lot of different loose leaf teas.

I can't say I have ever heard of them. I like matte' tea from South America, but it is high in some form of stimulant, like caffeine so I can't drink too much of it. I order it online. That would probably work well with your mug. Most of the stuff I buy comes in bags, and then for what doesn't I put in one of those little tea ball thing-a-ma-jigs and then strain it with a fine strain. Matte' tea they usually drink with a straining straw, which I don't use even though I have one. I still haven't found a good way to make it, because the leaves are often ground up so fine they go through whatever you have. I am kindof thinking about making it with my french press and seeing if that goes well.

I just went to the tea shop in MOA...and they had plenty. Even had the tea water bottle things. I've seen some of those in coffee shops too.

A friend of mine just tosses the green tea leaves into a regular water bottle and leaves them there. (until she cleans it)

Yea, we were just at Jordan Creek last week and the tea shop there had a bunch. I was just curious if they are all created equal or there is a particular kind that is really nice. The watter bottle style seems like a good bet, because she wants it for work, but I didn't think about them potentially being a pain to clean.

I only wonder that from seeing someone's not looking good....they could have been lazy about it.

Yeah, Great Wall. I love that place. We have been going there probably for 10 years. We are going to buy a duck for Christmas. I buy my green tea, and my oolong, and jasmine green tea there. I also like what they call Bojemni tea. It is good for blood pressure and dieting.

I go to the Coop and buy a pound of White Peony and have that often iced with fresh ginger, honey or sweetener. Tea has less caffeine by over one-half of regular coffee. It a great drink, but I love coffee a lot, too!

Has anyone tried the tea flowers? I saw them for the first time Sunday. As the tea is steeping the flower opens up.

Love coffee, but probably more than I should. I have gotten sick off of it a few times. I try to cut down on the caffeine even more by mixing it with herbal teas. I have always liked Celestial Seasonings. Also the Lipton ones are good. I like red tea, which you can get from hy-vee. That you must mix with fruit herbal teas but is good with strawberry, raspberry, ect.

I have tried them, and they are cute. My wife actually bought those for me. I generally worry about flavor though rather than novelty, and price.

That is true. So they don't add flavor then?

The one that I had was just jasmine green tea. I am not sure where it came from. I like jasmine tea, but generally mix it with other herbs that don't have caffeine. I am one of those guys that gets the jitters.
