Paul Rhoads needs to upgrade the talent

Recruiting has not really improved from the Mac years. We do better based on improved plays and schemes, particularly on defense. But aside from a spike during Chizik's 2 years -- yes, I really am saying that Chizik was a better recruiter than Paul Rhoads -- recruiting has not improved. The result is a big talent gap between ISU and just about any team in the old Big 12 South.

You say this as you don't think he knows this...

Our talent is a problem. It always has been. The coaches are working on it, but part of what gets players is winning games. Have to have one before you have the other.

Wow, really? I don't think we are that far off talent wise. Discipline, well, we find a way to lose games, that's for sure.

Not to take away from Baylor, they were the best team tonight, but come on an RGIII comes along how often?

ISU is way more talented than they were under Mac. Schedule is just 10x harder.

Actually we look pretty talented, we just need things to go our way, they haven't (in the games we've lost).

I disagree. The talent is much better now that it has been in recent years. There is a lot more depth now than ever. We still need a couple play makers and improved line play but things really are better now. I think everyone is forgetting how bad things were.

    The sky is blue?
    Water is wet?
The sun is a tad warm?
Another obvious thing with an obvious fact?
Of ******* course we need to upgrade talent. Can't recruit talent if you don't win, which has been a problem if you haven't noticed that obvious fact...

I'm gonna stop now, but seriously, you're stupid.

Gotta win with the talent we have before we can convince better players to come and play for us.

Disagree. I think the talent has improved. Baylor isn't the Baylor of old. This ain't the b10. This conference is filled with talented athletic teams.

There will ALWAYS be a talent gap with Texas schools. But this team is much faster and deeper than the past few years.

I would agree for the most part. The problem is that now the B12 is so tough. It's as competitive as it was in the 90's, except we are more competitive because our talent is also better then that time period.

With that said, it still sucks that we could quite possibly (probably might be a better word) finish 9th place in the conference. 7-8th would actually be quite an accomplishment.

Wrong. U must not have paid much attention to the talent during the mac years.

Heck, baylor teams much worse than this beat us at jts.
