Did not see this posted elsewhere. ISU's Okoro plays through family tragedy - Times Union
Nice find. Thanks
It's going to take a while for me to not think KO means Osemele.
Very cool story, thanks for sharing.
Out of curiosity and I've seen it written this way by multiple posters.....why "KO" instead of "NO"? I know when pronouncing his name, it begins with the "K" sound, but his initials are still "NO"
His twitter is the KO_campaign
He uses the initials KO.
I may be completely wrong here, but I think the N is silent. His first name is close to Kerwin, which I believe is what he has gone by, and as mentioned the KO comes from his Twitter name.
What a magnificent photo:

Evidence of Booker's smile!!
Guys, booker is so unhappy
I trust fred.
Got it - not a Twitter guy, so I had no idea. Thanks.
Dryburn - that's what I was trying to "say" when I indicated knowing his name begins with the "K" sound. - insinuating the "N" is silent.
I really hope this kid turns into a Babb 2.0 I get tired of hearing people say he is going to transfer at the end of the season for more playing time because this article shows life is bigger than just basketball.
I lived in Africa for three years, and African families, take family extremely seriously. Therefore when Babb said they couldn't understand what Okoro was going through, he was correct. That was Kerwin's best friend and brother, and his dad had been struggling for their family his whole life. They are an extremely brave family. I wonder how they are supporting themselves now, with all this happening. It has to be difficult.
good find! Hope the best for this kid and better things to come!
