Mike Singletary to Baylor? I thought the UCLA coach had them back on the road to respectability, but the wheels seem to have come off this year. I wouldn't mind not seeing Leach in the Big 12.
Mike Leach in La La land huh? That would be an interesting fit. I'd be interested to see Leach take his style to a better recruiting base.
Leach to LA could be SCARY... Imagine that kind of offense with a bunch of 5 star receivers running around. It's definately suited for that kind of city, alot of glam and not much substance.
Did we know that Briles was interviewed for the ISU job last year?? That didn't ring a bell with me...
Not only might their offense be outstanding, think of how much the team would be with a decent defense!
I would love to see him out of the big 12.
leach would be in juco heaven in california.don't knock his recruiting. he can find a guy that noone has heaed of and make him into a decent player.leach is an attorney-probaly tells his players,i am going to sue your a## if you don't win today!!!!
Re: New Coaching Rumor: Leach to NEBRASKA?
1. He likes to score big.
2. He can recruit.
3. His offense is better than the west coast offense.
4. He looks good in Red.
6. He looks better than Mangino.
7. He likes to cycle.
Is there a QB that HASN'T been successful in his system? I go for 6'2", 325, and run about an 8 second 40, and I'd probably be successful in his system. I'd like to see him take that kind of success out of the Big XII. Nice knowing ya (at least in 2002 when Wallace ran roughshot all over your defense it was)
He needs to find a genius DC, and I don't care where he is, they'll be competitive.
The thing about the PAC-10, is that everyone passes a lot. You've gotta have a good pass D to be competitive there. It'd be interesting to see what his system did out there, though.
4 new coaches in the Big 12 next year? How long until Gene is the dean of Big 12 coaches?
He's looney enough to be a Californian! or is it Californite? or is it Californicator?
From the link:
Never heard about this guy when the coaching search was going on...
Twin Cities paper said Glen Mason was on the short list for UCLA.
Pity the Bruins if true.
Nothing personal against TTU, but I would find it frustrating to be a TTU fan, given that they've been running an offense that is a 90s fad.
From this week's Forde yard dash:
Per Rivals, UCLA has the #4 recruiting class for 2008.
