As of today you can now watch 12,000 movies instantly on Tivo.

I just renewed my NetFlix account today because of this. I signed up for the 1 DVD at the time for $8.99 plan with unlimited movies on my computer or Tivo. I am Watching "No Country for Old Men" right now.

I don't like watching TV without a Tivo anymore. I used to use NetFlix but quit using it because I did not like to wait for movies to arrive. The selection of 12,000 movies available is not the best but I think I will like the convienance a lot.

I wish they would have this for the ps3, but I'm guessing since it's on the 360, it won't happen with the ps3.

When I was with Netflix I wasn't real impressed with their "view it now" movies. Maybe that's different now.

As a side note, deos anyone ever use Redbox? Seems like a good idea.

how many people actually have a stand-alone tivo? Most people with DVRs have it as part of their cable or satellite receiver. The Tivo's that were installed with the Directv boxes have been phased out and replaced with their own DVR programming.

The DirecTV DVR blows chunks compared to the actual Tivo that we still have and love.

I love my Tivo, but I think they will go under in the near future. Here's an interesting article about it.

How Tivo Changed the World, then Missed the Boat

I am intrigued by the Netflix on Tivo, though. I'll have to check that out.

Just spoke to Directv rep and she said TiVo should again be an option in early 2009.

GF's sister uses it all the time. She loves it.

The question being will they allow Netflix on them. It wouldn't really make sense for DirecTV to offer it since it would compete with VOD and PPV, not to mention premium channels.

Then again, if DirecTV were to partner with Netflix.....THAT would be truly game-changing.

Don't know how long it's been since you were with them, but they're adding more all the time. I think it's great for older movies and non-blockbusters. Also great for TV shows.

Does anybody have one of the Samsung Blu-Ray players that will stream Netflix? I'd like to get one but want to know if it's worth it.
