On my...er, Miller and Deace's show this morning the topic that came up was who is the best college QB of all time. Which, of course, is spawned off the potential of Tebow winning about NC and potentially Heisman. I didn't get to hear much of the show as I get to work too early, but it's an intriguing topic.

Who is the best college QB of all time, in your book? If it's not Tebow, and if he wins a NC or a Heisman or both, does he come in at #1 for you?

Imo, and I haven't put much thought into it or heard even what M&D thought, I'd probably have to give him the nod if he wins either.

As of right now...I might pick Vince Young over him and I might also put Frazier in that discussion. It's hard to look past Wuerffel or Staubach, even...I am not sure.

I'll say Staubach for the moment. Because not only what he did, but what he did considering the talent around him.

Staubach, Young, Wuerffel, Frazier, Flutie, and Tebow (already) can all make good arguments.

If McCoy or Bradford have stellar years, are they good enough for the mix?

I think possibly...specifically McCoy with 4 seasons. But in these discussions I think it helps validate you more to have a Heisman or NC on your resume.

I mean let's face it...if Nebraska isn't quite as good as they were and they don't win a NC is he still in the discussion?

I am really starting to back off Frazier the more I think about it.

Flutie? The guy that won a Heisman based off of one play? Really? Greatest of all time?

I think their argument got a little fuzzy with Tebow. It seems they confuse the difference between best QB of all time and most successful of all time. In my mind there is a difference.

I was just about to comment that a few years of college football pre-dated 1980. I don't know how you include guys you never saw play other than by the inclusion of statistics, and the game has changed much over the years. The QB award is named after Davey O'Brien of TCU and Bob Waterfield of UCLA was immediately an NFL star (plus he married the first famous pin-up). FTR, I am not this old, but I like history!

How good would Seneca Wallace have been on a better team? Just a thought.

I can't play the what if game...it's fun as speculation, but I'd never try to put a guy on a list based on it.

Iowa wouldn't have lost that year if they would have had Seneca Wallace instead of Brad Banks. That Hawkeye team was stacked and Banks got all the accolades from it.

If ISU would have had Banks instead of Seneca they probably would have only won 4 games that year....tops
