I can't believe some of the changes that have been happening in the Big 12 over the past 2 years. This is going to be a completely different conference soon.

It's turning into one of those "who do you believe?" things. Some reports have Leach as this godawful monster, some reports have this thing so completely overblown by an administration that hates Leach so much (doesn't participate in university functions that don't directly benefit him and has some interesting yet hardly tortuous disciplinary methods) that they would do just about anything to have the guy fired, and would have done it last year had he not gone 11-1. The question is which end of the spectrum does reality lie...

Either way, if there is that much conflict between him and administration, maybe it is time for him to move on.

Who knows the truth in this one.....? but I do believe that TT would like to see him gone, his comments, publicity, last years contract dispute, of late have not been favorable to the University.....

Just saw Craig James on ESPN, always have liked him, but he is a parent in this fight, and it would be hard to be objective. ISU's old CR reporter Courtney L. is now covering parts of this story for TT.....

between a helicopter parent, that happens to be one of the only players in history to take a pay cut upon entering the NFL, and an AD that hates him...Leach doesn't stand a chance. This is a shame.

Where were the trainers in this situation? If this treatment is so detrimental, then did they speak up? I've heard a lot on the radio about Leach needing to be more careful with concussions but I've seen nothing to indicate that this player's health or safety was in danger. It was just a really odd thing to do.

Doesn't hurt that James has about 20 cable channels at his disposal to make whatever comments he wants. Texas Tech is probably just trying to stay out of ESPN's doghouse.

The trainers were right there in the room... The team Dr. even came out and said there was nothing wrong with Leach's treatment of James. This has been WAY overblown by a primadonna kid and an AD who wants Leach out.

From what was said on espin at halftime there was a licensed athletic trainer and a couple of student trainers supervising his stay in the shed. Some of what I'm hearing is that the kid had been cleared but didn't want to practice saying he still had a headache, so Leach put him in a dark room to help with the headache.

There used to be a game called football where coaches could discipline players and players did what coaches told them.

Now the players are sensitive prima donnas who don't like tough discipline + transfer at the drop of a hat if they've been 'wronged'. Or get the coach wacked.

Don't get me wrong, some of this stuff is crazy and wrong (Mangino in general), but where we've gotten to...and most certainly where we're going...is too bad.

and I love how the James family referred to the teams AV room as an "electrical closet". The spin is out of control!

Of course, the team doctor has a bias, too, since he wants to keep his job.

Just saying, not fair at all to call this college kid a prima donna without considering both sides of it.

I have seen more prima donna rich kids and overbearing parents than I have abusive coaches.... Just sayin'

If Leech goes down, he'll go down swinging, it will be entertaining to follow and it will get ugly for Texas Tech.

I like the guy alot, he is hilarious and he speaks his mind. But getting Leech (and Mangino) out of the conference is a great thing for ISU.

It's been pretty well established in the media (at least the Rome and Gottlieb shows) that the kid was a prima donna that didn't like to practice, or so said interviewed teammates.

That I hadn't heard yet. The disadvantage of sleeping in the daytime.

    Any actual quotes, though?

Also, any bias from players that don't want to lose their standing? I'm just saying that it's fair to consider the perspective everyone is coming from. Other players have a dog in the fight, too, and that can bias their comments.
