Lazard and Urbandale face undefeated Ames tonight in the playoffs.....7 p.m. at Ames High, in case anyone is interested. It could be a pretty high-scoring game.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned somewhere else, but if it has, mods please merge.

Even though I live in Ames and my daughter goes to Ames I am cheering for Urbandale.

Going to be a very high scoring game.

Seems like Ames has a ton of people cheering against them tonight. Don't blame 'em.

Definitely wish I could see this game, but I'm not missing Wayne's game tonight. Lots of playmakers in this one; Urbandale's ground game doesn't have that one superstar, but they have three guys who average right around 10 ypc. Then Augustine-Lazard is a pretty dynamic pitch and catch duo.

I've not been able to figure out what to think of Ames. They play in a weak division, but I do think their offense will score against just about anyone. But I have questions about their defense and whether it's good enough for them to get to the Dome coming out of this substate (seriously, this pod is ******* loaded).

I've actually been wondering for a few weeks now; is Kwaw-Mensah getting looked at by ISU (or anyone, for that matter)? He's put up video game numbers this year, the likes of which have rarely been seen at the 4A level; only Terrence Freeney (2x), Jason Scales and Tavian Banks have put up as good or better numbers in 4A's history. And Kwaw-Mensah has only played in 10 games so far, while the others all played at least 11.

Plan on heading up. I've never been to Ames stadium. Where is it located? How big is it? Will I need to arrive pretty early to sit on Urbandale side?

Because it's Lazard. I know a ton of ISU students that are going and rooting for Urbandale just so Lazard can keep playing.

Stadium is located just behind the school. You will park in the front parking lot.

Visitor side isn't huge but it'll do. Tons of standing room in the West endzone if need be.

Parking lot fills up pretty quickly. I'd be there by 6:15 at the latest.

I'm torn on this one, would be nice to see Lazard keep playing but it would also be pretty cool to see if Mensah can break the Ames rushing record and get close to the 4a record.

It's high school. It's over. Who cares?

They're ISU students and Lazard is an ISU commit.

Why not root for our top incoming recruit. Fan support is part of his decision I believe.

I know he broke the single season record and single game record already this year (in fact...I think he's broken his own record twice)

He would've shattered the record by at least 500 yards by now if they hadn't blown out all their opponents. I believe, in the 10 games they've played, he's only played the 3rd quarter 4 times, and the 4th quarter twice.
