If you stare at the numbers long enough there is a picture of a naked lasy in the pattern.

    1st HALF
    ------------------
    TOP: 18:21
    Rushing: 26-133 (5.1 yd/att)
    Passing: 8-11-84 (7.6 yd/att)

    2nd HALF
    ------------------
    TOP: 11:03
    Rushing: 13-25 (1.9 yd/att)
    Passing: 6-12-64 (5.3 yd/att)

    TOTALS
    ------------------
    TOP: 29:24
    Rushing: 39-158 (4.1 yd/att)
    Passing: 14-23-148 (6.4 yd/att)

Our offense really struggled in the 2nd Half (leading to the small TOP). Typically, that is due to adjustments made at Halftime. As we have all discussed, this first game was a real feeling-out process for the Staff. Now that we have answered the RB question and seen what the OL is capable of, I think we will start to see much more tuned, efficient play-calling in the coming weeks.

This staff needs time to sift through their "toolbox" to see what they have available to them.

I was impressed with jesse smith, he plays the position like it is meant to be played. also i think derec smidgall is going to be quite a nice player for us. It was good to see him on the field, I was very impressed with him in the spring game. Also, Hunley must be hurt, it will be nice to see what he can do, along with berg..he seemed to be tearing it up in practice.

One of the guys I work with knew Jesse when he was in high school and apparently if he would have stayed focused (stayed off weed accourding to this guy) he would have been an all stater in football, baseball and wrestling. Appreently he did a standing back flip everytime he won a wrestling match.

KSU ran 15 more plays then ISU but only had 1 minute more of time of possesion. Doesn't seem to add up. Their yards per play weren't great the defense just couldn't get them off the field again.
