Wow, I love Kings optimism but hes smoking crack on ISU. If hes right, I will write him letter apologizing, but Im not convinced.

I would be happy with a 4th place finish.

this might be the first season of any sport in ISU history where the majority of the national media is more positive on our team than the majority of our fans.

4th is about right. Big 12 picked up some decent wins as of late but most of those were by the three teams ahead of us. I would put EMAW ahead of us at this point in predictions. Texas over UNC was good but not great, there isn't much left to discuss after that.

    "Iowa State is incredibly well-coached..."

I'm not smart enough to know how true this is but Fred is often lauded for his coaching ability. Not bad for a greenhorn.

I don't disagree with these predictions. Thats right where I would have us.

Realistically we can end up anywhere from 2nd-6th, so 4th is about right.

Anything under 5th would be an extreme disappointment with 5 seniors on the roster (4 RS)

Switch Baylor and OSU and that is exactly what I picked for the finish of the league yesterday.

probably due to the fact jason king was the KU beat writer when we were coached by wayne morgan and greg mcdermott.

At least Morgan beat KU in '05. "He who shall not be named" never did.

I think 4th is very accurate. We should be able to hold our home court win the only toss ups being KU and OSU imo. We should sweep TCU and Tech easily. WVU and OU would be the next 2 we should be looking at sweeping. I'd call Texas a sweep too but they get Kabongo back the day they play us at Texas. Will they be much better with him or will they struggle adjusting to his playing after 2/3s the season without him.

    4th is absolutely doable.

His statement on cohesion is spot on. We could potentially finish above 4th if the team/talent comes together.

KU has inside track, as usual — boy would I love to finish ahead of Jayhawks, though.

That would require finishing 1st, though. Off-chance Kansas didn't win it, I don't see any finish lower than second.
