I've also heard that by rule, you can only sell a certain percentage of your capacity as season tickets. I don't know what the percentage is though.

I had a hawk fan take me to task on just this issue the other day; he was mad about not being able to get tickets to the game. I told him that EIU was contractually allotted 5000 seats. True or incorrect?

As I understand it, season ticket sales were limited to 38,000 seats this season. Is that correct?

If that's the case, where are the other 12,000 tickets allotted?
    5000 to visiting team?
1000 to team members, coaching staff, administration?
    Other 6000?

Does that 38,000 number include hillside season ticket's? Does it include Student Season tickets? Lil Clones Club?

If anybody is in the know, I'm curious....

4000 go to visiting team. He had plenty of time to get them as it took a while for them to sell out. Unless he got them from a NCC member, he hasn't been to the game in Ames before anyway.
There are a lot of tents available, not just the 50 person ones that we see in the north lots.
Also, I'm sure some big corporations who sponsor the games are able to snatch up some tickets.
Personally, I don't care where the numbers come from, as long as the fans are dressed in Cardinal and their money is green.

I really can't see why hawk fans are so upset about this. I ordered Iowa tickets last year and was not able to get them because I didn't donate enough to get get in on Iowa State's allotment. So the only way I could have gotten Iowa tickets was to get an Iowa Season Ticket which are alot more expensive than ISU season ticket packages. As for the $90 tickets, they normally go for at least that on the open market.
