A common choice is double-double animal style.

Advice?? Go someplace where you don't have to wait in line (unless you are just going to say that you've been to an In-N-Out Burger). IMO, the food is quite overrated.

Don't think about comparisons. Just think about how delicious it is. The comparisons are for later.

i would go to an in-n-out 10 times outta 10 before Five Guys... and I consider myself a fan of Five Guys.

but then again, I lived in CA roughly 15 years ago

Disagree. It's worth a stop for the novelty, definitely isn't the best burger in the world.

5 guys are gonna go national and you will see them in strip malls almost as common as Jimmy Johns IMO.

In-N-Out seem to enjoy the coast/SW.

I'd take In-N-Out. 5 guys is good, but their fries are on and off disappointing or good. Don't ever get the cajun fries, way too seasoned.

Double double animal style or a 2x4, cheese fries, and a neopolitan shake or a lemon up.

Double-double w/ fries. In-n-out is great but I still would take Steak N Shake over them.
